Bishop Ireton Groundbreaking
This morning the entire Bishop Ireton High School community, joined also by distinguished officials from The Catholic Diocese of Arlington, celebrated the historic groundbreaking of the school’s new addition in Alexandria, Virginia. Bishop Burbidge offered a ceremonial mass, followed by a blessing of the new site. The official groundbreaking included students, faculty, community members, donor families as well as representatives from our design partner, Maginniss + del Ninno Architects.
The new Bishop Ireton High School addition will include three-story plus basement Technology Wing. The wing will include new science classrooms and labs, a new Media Center and new cafeteria. Once the wing is constructed, portions of the existing high school will be modified, expanding and renovating portions of the North Gym Wing. Also included is a new main office and entry addition, and the reconfiguration of the front parking lot and entrance.
