HESS provided construction management at risk services for the Forest Park High School project in Baltimore, Maryland as a part of the 21st Century School’s initiative. Originally constructed in 1981, HESS managed significant structural and MEP upgrades, as well as exterior façade upgrades to the existing edifice. A new 2,200-SF addition expanded the cafeteria and another 15,500-SF wing incorporated a two-story addition to include an auxiliary gym, Black Box theatre, community room, art classroom and supplemental storage areas. The new addition is utilized by both school occupants and members of the community. Community access to the tennis courts and track was maintained throughout construction and the school’s existing feature element, the natatorium and locker room spaces were also rehabilitated and available for community use going forward.
